JVS

From www.offcameraflash.com

JVS is short for Joseph Victor Stefanchik and I’ve been a full-time commercial and editorial photographer since 1995. Based in Rosemary Beach, Florida, I also photograph weddings with the love of my life, Candice KausHagen.

As a photojournalist, I traveled the world documenting incredible stories and was fortunate to win a number of awards including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for International Photojournalism (twice) as well as being named a Pulitzer Prize finalist.

Over the years I’ve photographed music legends and big screen faces, the atrocities of civil war and landmines in Angola, traversed down the Panama Canal in a Panamax ship and froze my butt off photographing the Nagano Winter Olympic Games. And believe it or not, I also have a passion for food photography.

My wedding photography has been awarded by WPPI, SWPP, WPJA, AGWPJA, WPJA, and Fearless Photographers. I’ve also been a competition judge for WPPI, SWPP, Fearless Photographers, Inspiration Awards, Dutch Masters of Photography, BodaF, PWS, and PWPC.

I’ve been teaching photography workshops around the globe concentrating on creative lighting techniques since 2004. Sharing my knowledge with fellow photographers and helping them raise their game is a real thrill!

Beautiful Seouls: Photo Exhibit & Talk / Saturday, February 9th at 6pm (Sold Out)
Annika Young/Beautiful Seouls

Annika Young/Beautiful Seouls

Annika Young began documenting her travels as a CNN field producer a decade ago, armed with just a Blackberry and her Facebook account. Combining photography with short form storytelling via lyrical, highly personal photo captions, Young continues to share her world travels through social media, creating a voyeuristic portal by which people can make the trek alongside her. "Beautiful Seouls" documents her November 2018 journey to South Korea and is Young’s first public exhibition and talk, billed as a "visual love letter" honoring the experiences, encounters and emotions from her life-changing trip. You are invited to Creative Hands Studio at 52 O Street N.W. Suite 208 on Saturday, February 9 at 6pm to view Young's art and to hear her in conversation with Arienne Thompson Plourde, a veteran entertainment journalist (USA TodayToday show), media professional and professor.

Doors open at 5:30p and the conversation will begin at 6pm. Space is limited (only 25 tickets available)!

Shutdown Stories Project

Federal workers have become unwilling pawns. Perhaps most dehumanizing the media and certain politicians relegate these great individuals as a blind number, “800,000 federal workers.” Teaming together, DC photographer Kirth Bobb and Geoff Livingston spent an afternoon at Creative Hands Studio to provide more than 20 federal employees with professional headshots, whether they are furloughed or worse being made to work without pay.
